Persistent Herbicides
Most herbicides commonly used in the home yard or garden do not contaminate compost since they break down in the composting process. However, there are exceptions. Learn about those that persist and avoid adding plants to a composting operation that may have been contaminated with them, as well as the manures from animals who have eaten those plants.
